Welcome Letter

Welcome to our website honoring Tim Redovian and The Tim Redovian Memorial Fund!

Sherrill and Tim RedovianPlease take a minute to read Tim’s story and learn about this remarkable young man, his many accomplishments, his illness and untimely death at sixteen years of age and of The Tim Redovian Memorial Fund that was founded to perpetuate his incredible spirit.

Several months after Tim died Freida Kipar, a friend Tim made while attending the Governor’s Honors Program the summer of 1996, wrote me a letter in which she was reminiscing about Tim. She shared something Tim said to her that I think was his philosophy of life. Freida wrote, “I know he would be continuously moving if still with us. I’ll never forget the time he told me that if he was ever found standing still and stagnant in his life for me to please whack him in the head, because a life that goes nowhere is no life at all.”

As you work your way through this website you will see that was Tim: always busy, constantly moving, continually learning.

Tim was nine years old when he took his first acting class and on his way to that class he asked me if I thought he would one day be on Broadway. A pretty lofty thought for someone just nine year old who had not yet taken his first class. I told him probably not if I was driving car pool. After that first acting class (he was Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk) Tim announced that was what he wanted to do, he wanted to be a GREAT ACTOR ON BROADWAY.. And instinctively he seemed to know if he was going to reach that goal he better get busy because he had a lot to learn.

As you read about Tim’s journey “to learn it all” you will see what his desire, commitment and willingness to work hard helped him achieve. He was on his way and those who knew him had no doubt that one day he would get his chance to be a Great Actor. After all, from nine to sixteen years of age, he accomplished more than many people do in a lifetime.

Thank you.

Sherrill Redovian, Tim's Mom and President of The Tim Redovian Memorial Fund, Inc.
